Do I need to register before using the forums?

You don't need to register to use any of the facilities in the forums, you can add messages and use the chat rooms in "Guest mode" which is indicated on postings. This may change in the future.

What benefits will I have registering with UK Guinea Pigs?

You will secure your 'Nickname' so no-one else will be able to use it.
You will be able to edit and delete your postings (only moderators can edit/delete messages if messages are entered in guest mode)
You will also be registered for PiggieMail in the form of nickname@ukguineapigs.org.uk the main web based mail service

How do I register for UK Guinea Pigs?

Click on the register link and enter your details, those marked with an asterisk are compulsory.

Please note you need to be at least 13 years of age to sign up. This is stated in Everyone.net's terms and conditions of use.

I've already got a PiggieMail account do I need to re-register?

No, you can use this ID and password for the forums, unless you want a different nickname

What is 'Guest mode'?

It just means you are not registered. If you go in the chat rooms there is a prompt for those wanting to use Guest Mode.

I've registered with UK Guinea Pigs - how do I log in?

One of three ways

Go to the Community Directory page and chose log in - in the dialogue box enter your user name and password
If you are posting or replying to a message in the forums you will be prompted to enter your username and password at the top of the message - once this message has been posted you will see a message that you have been logged in.
When you enter the chat room you will be prompted to enter your username and password.

How do I post a message to the forums?

Click on the forum name of your choice and choose "Post New Topic"

enter your username and password (if you are registered and have not logged in)
Give your message a subject
Enter the main body of the message and click post

How do I enter the chat room?

There are two ways of going in the chat room.

On the Community Directory Page look for the chatters column - it will say how many there are in the chat room
Click on "Chatters" on the links bar within the forum.
Now wait for the applet to load

How do I leave the chatroom?

Close the window containing the chatroom applet.

How do I log out of the discussion area?

Click log out in the links bar

NB: if you exit from your web brower, you will also log out of UK Guinea Pigs

Where's the on-line help?

Currently, Everyone.net is working on the help pages. The link is there with a prompt saying it is coming soon.
